Hackathon

Design Thinking & App Prototyping

Support Deadly Coders Hackathon programs to empower Indigenous students in tech. Our Hackathon program caters to senior students and has been designed to help organisations identify future talent with strong problem solving, teamwork and creative thinking skills

What is a hackathon?

Students work in groups to design,  develop and pitch an app which solves a particular program to investors. Students learn design thinking frameworks, app prototyping and development skills in the first part of the hackathon, ultimately mocking up a working prototype to their mobile devices.

The program focuses on development of entrepreneurship skills, as students pitch their solution to a panel of experts in a mock funding battle as a culmination of everything they have learned over the multi-day program.

Sponsorship provides:

  • Three-day hackathon workshop for up to 40 Indigenous students
  • Student kits
  • Supply of hardware
  • Provision of qualified facilitators
  • Venue hire
  • Catering
  • Panel of experts to attend the pitch process
  • Ability for your staff to attend and engage with the students
  • A 3-month Deadly Coders Online access pass for every participating student.
